Bean Beetle Microbiome Project Workshops

Posted on

Since 2019, we will hosted two in-person and two virtual faculty professional development workshops on the bean beetle microbiome course-based undergraduate research experience (CURE).  The in-person workshops take place over 3 days at Emory University. During these workshops, pairs of faculty from participating institutions will receive hands-on training in the lab and data analytic techniques used in the bean beetle microbiome CURE.  After the workshops, faculty will return to their home institutions and implement the CURE in one of their lab courses. The virtual workshops take place over 5 consecutive afternoons with pairs of faculty from each participating institution.

Funding for the workshops from NSF will cover all expenses associated with attending the workshop and implementing the CURE.

Read more about the potential benefits of the CURE to your students, expectations of workshop participants, resources provided to participants, and sample curricula for full-semester and half-semester versions of the CURE.
