Bean Beetle Curriculum Development Workshop

Emory University, Atlanta, GA

June 8 - 10, 2011

Workshop travel information

The workshop will begin with an opening reception on Wednesday, June 8 at 8pm and will conclude with a closing dinner on Friday, June 10. All participants should plan to attend all aspects of the workshop including the opening reception and closing dinner. Most participants choose to arrive mid to late afternoon on Wednesday and depart on Saturday morning.

Participants can travel by air or by personal vehicle. If traveling by air, we will make your airline reservations for you. In choosing flight times, keep in mind that it takes about one hour to navigate the Atlanta airport and 30 minutes or more (depending on traffic) to travel from the airport to Emory.

Once arriving at the Atlanta airport, you can either take an airport shuttle (about $35 on Atlanta Superior Shuttle) or taxi (approximately $40-$50) from the airport to Emory. If you are arriving with your partner, taking a taxi will be cheaper. Taxis do take credit cards, but you need to tell them in advance at the airport. You will be staying in the Woodruff Residential Center on Clifton Road, on Emory's main campus. However, you need to check in with Conference Services at Alabama Hall (1615 Pierce Drive, NE) first. If you have trouble finding Conference Services, just call them at 404-727-0427. Directions to residence halls and maps of campus can be found here.

Save your receipts and we will reimburse you for your ground transportation.

If you would like to spend additional time in Atlanta, you may do so. However, our grant can only cover the cost for the cheapest airfare from the airport closest to your institution to Atlanta for the days of the workshop. You would need to pay any additional travel and room and board expenses.

If you prefer to drive to the workshop, we can reimburse you for mileage ($0.55/mile based on the Google Maps distance from your institution to Emory) up to the cost of a round trip airline ticket from the airport closest to your institution to Atlanta.

To help us arrange your travel, please fill out the form below by March 15. (*Required fields)
